ETERNAL SORREL BAR AWARD 2009 Given to an equine that has made outstanding contributions to the sport of Cowboy Mounted Shooting 2003 He first experienced cms with the New Hampshire Cavalry Unit. 2004 He competed with the new club, the NH Cowboy Mounted Shooters. 2005 He traveled south to run with the Delaware Club. 2005 He was tired of all that traveling, so he convinced his partner to start their own cms club, the CT Renegades. It might have been easier to travel. He has helped teach the sport to scores of riders and horses in clinics and private lessons. 2004 and 2005 This horse brought his partner to High Points Cowboy in the NE Region. 2006 He achieved “Champion Shooting Horse” meeting all the criteria set by CMSA. 2007 He was still on the road traveling to NH, MA and Delaware. Now he works and plays closer to home in cms competition, parades, 4H Shows and trail rides. He has won 14 buckles in the sport of cms including class, Regionals and all the State championships, except Connecticut! Before cms, this horse competed in team penning, roping and barrel racing. He still carries his partner and often the Stars and Stripes in parades. He has done everything except drive the truck! So many of us know and love this special quarterhorse known as “Turbo”. |
